Exports and outputs
Every publish and download format: embed, share page, MP4, GIF, PNG, SVG, PowerPoint, PDF.
Every output renders from the same chart definition through the same engine, so what you see in the editor is what publishes: the embed, the share page, the video, and the image files all show the identical frame. Downloads and publishing require a free account; some formats are included on paid plans, noted below.
Live embed
Publishing a chart produces an iframe snippet served from a stable URL. The embedded chart stays connected to its data source and shows new figures as the source publishes them; charts built from pasted or uploaded data stay exactly as published. Embeds reflow to the container width and negotiate their own height on the host page. The Embedding charts article covers the snippet, responsive behavior, and the fit options in detail.
Share page
Every published chart also gets a share page at a short link (the /v address in the publish step). It renders the same live chart on a branded page with a link back to the editor, and is the right thing to paste where an iframe cannot go: chat, email, social posts.
MP4 video
An animated chart exports as an MP4 of its reveal. The video is rendered frame by frame from the same progress function that drives the preview, so the exported frames match the editor exactly. Renders run on our servers; the publish step shows progress and keeps the finished file available for re-download. Video export is included on the Starter plan and above. Animations can run up to five minutes.
Animated GIF
The same reveal exports as an animated GIF for places that autoplay GIFs but not video: Slack, docs, email. GIFs render at 15 frames per second with a 256-color palette, so files are larger and gradients are coarser than the MP4; prefer the MP4 wherever video embeds are supported. Included on the Starter plan and above.
PNG image
A retina-sharp still of the chart at its authored size, rendered in the browser at export time. Available on every plan with a free account.
SVG image
A vector version of the chart with its fonts embedded in the file, so it renders identically in browsers, design tools, and print pipelines that do not have the font installed. Included on the Professional plan and above.
PowerPoint
A .pptx file with the chart placed on a ready slide. An editable option exports the chart as native shapes and text instead of an image, so titles and labels can be adjusted in PowerPoint. Included on the Professional plan and above.
A print-exact vector PDF of the chart. Included on the Professional plan and above.
Formats by plan
Free accounts publish embeds and share pages and download PNGs. Starter adds MP4 and GIF renders. Professional adds SVG, PowerPoint, and PDF, and removes the Kitegraph watermark. Business adds 4K video and priority rendering. The pricing page has the full comparison.
